Bridging Innovation and Compliance in Gynecological Care
Gynaia was established to address the challenges faced by the gynecological community due to evolving medical device regulations. Building on the foundational work of the IOTA group and their world-class models like IOTA ADNEX, it became necessary to professionalize software tools to ensure continued access for the community.
With medical device regulation changes requiring compliance with standards such as post-market surveillance and quality management systems, a dedicated effort was essential. This led to the formation of Gynaia to create medical device-grade tools, enabling clinicians to maintain high-quality diagnostics and patient care.
Recognizing the need for structured training, certification, and quality control programmes, Gynaia expanded its offerings to include professional development resources that benefit the entire community. Additionally, the company developed advanced tools like the Clinical Data Miner to facilitate research and enhance studies.
To realize this vision, the university engaged two seasoned entrepreneurs with extensive experience in medical device software and clinical decision support. Together with experts in gynecology, they created Gynaia to bridge the gap between innovation and practical implementation.
